In addition to its restoration projects and its work in technical research and education, the Glasgow Conservation Trust West is committed to enhancing public appreciation of the West End.
October 2005 will mark the fourteenth annual series of West End Lectures, a set of authoritative talks on various aspects of the historic West End of Glasgow. Arranged by the Friends of Glasgow West, with guidance from the Trust and in conjunction with the Department of Adult and Continuing Education of the University of Glasgow, the ten weekly lectures are presented by distinguished local experts in architecture, history, design and the arts.
Designed to inform, educate and entertain, the West End Lectures look at the rich and varied history of the area, featuring the important buildings, the great institutions, the many interesting people, current events and prospects for the future of this historic area.
